Information On Our Services After Reopening
All Maitland Libraries reopened on Monday 1 June 2020. This includes East Maitland Library, Maitland Library, Rutherford Library and Thornton Library.
From July 27 the opening hours are

Our services will include access to library collections, Justice of the Peace, Local Studies, printing, scanning and copying. Public access computers are available from 6 July 2020.
Government regulations require us to limit numbers in our libraries. The maximum number of visitors permitted is different in each of our branches, depending on the size of the library.
We will be maintaining health and safety protocols in accordance with NSW Health guidelines, including hand hygiene and physical distancing. If you are visiting the library, we ask that you sanitise your hands on arrival and prior to using the Self-check.
All financial transactions will be processed via EFTPOS. Cash transactions are not available.
Yes – our Click and Collect service will continue to be available. If you haven’t tried Click and Collect, simply use any of the following options and we’ll notify you when your selection is ready to collect from one of our branches.

Select from our curated collections
Some public programs have restarted in compliance with continuing restrictions on gatherings and events. This includes children’s programs such as Baby Book Club, Storytime, Lego Club, Role-play Club and Holiday Fun. Programs for adults including Look Who’s Talking, Writing/Poetry Meetups, Casual Conversations in English as a Second Language and Reading to Retirement Villages are also on hold.
Our meeting rooms are available at East Maitland, Maitland and Rutherford Libraries. Hire of the meeting rooms is limited to groups of 4 people or less to enable maintenance of required physical distancing precautions.
Public access computers are available from 6 July 2020.
Yes – Justice of the Peace services are available at several library branches.
